Wow… good job. Kudos to these guys. Greg Welch is really becoming quite a credible commentator and broadcaster.
This coverage is an absolute dream.

Paula too. It keeps getting a little slicker and more polished every year.
tom: they are doing a great job. the only small change I think they might could make is to have some kind of contact with the cameras on the motorcycles

2 things…
Someone needs to tell them to move the damn microphones down about 1 inch. They keep them too close and keep on clipping the mics. The guy in the middle is the only one who knows what he’s doing production-wise.
Why the hell are we watching them instead of the racers???!?!?!?!??!?!
only got into tri in 1995, but at that point the internet was still new-ish, the TV broadcast didn’t happen for a couple of months, and the magazines were usually a month or two behind.
i’ll concur with tom that this really is a dream compared to what we used to have; i think in coming years it’s going to get really smooth.

p.s - why can’t OLN carry this live feed? cut to commercials every once in a while, maybe put it on a one-minute delay to smooth out the sound and picture?
Yes, a great job! As far as the mikes, it was obvious that Mike Reilly was the only true broadcaster. If you’ve ever done sound recording, the good ones voice doesn’t fluctuate a ton, so it’s easier on the levels. As far as the team, righ Tom. Incredible insight and coverage with Welchie, Huddle, Paula. I’m so glad to see those that were so great as competitors to give back to the sport so much and get invloved in making the sport better for all of us. Telecatsing, rule changes, they are giving back so much…
I agree. It a very enjoyable viewing experience.
Welchie is putting on a show.
I don’t mind seeing the broadcasters, but I would prefer to hear their commentary as I am watching the racers.
There is no way OLN is doing to dedicate a full day of prime Bull Riding time for an 8 - 10 hour broadcast! ha! they wouldn’t even broadcast the Vuelta on the weekend this year!

Yeah, most of the other guys are putting the mic too much in front of their mouths and end up popping their “P’s” and half the time you can’t tell what they are saying. Ah well. I’d prefer to see the actual racers rather than the guys just sitting at the table.
I’m wondering if it might be a production problem, as I see they’re losing the Tinley phone-in also.
I am enjoying listening to Scott Tinley. I think it is hilarious how he ha not heard of so many of the athletes in the race.
I figured he’d stay in the game. But he is hilareous, and the banter with Huddle is great.
It can’t be easy to make a race this long entertaining either (i.e., talking for 9 hours straight)…
let’s see how much they struggle in a few hours…very tough assignment. Can’t imagine sitting on my ass for that long.
this is awesome…!
… and i just got my wireless broadband working…

Only one thing better…being there doing the race.
Somebody needs to clean off the cluttered broadcasters desk. It is a mess. There should be just a couple notes and a couple bottle of Gatorade. It doesn’t look professional.
I’m a Bob fan … I think he’s hilarious when reading his writings … but he needs to stop finishing Huddle’s sentences. It’s like they’re a married couple of 50 years. It’s annoying. Very small complaint … as I really am enjoying this coverage.
Greg and Paula have been a nice fit.

My wife can do this – no problem.
Sorry honey. Couldn’t help myself.
The Lori interview is cool.
