We had a custom made blimp made for the beach marker at the Bikesport Ann Arbor Triathlon on June 13. People swimming into the beach after the turnaround are going right into the sun. In previous years, accurate navagation is damn near impossible and a lot of people swim off course.
We had one of our friends make a custom blimp about 10’ long that flies at between 70 and 150’ altitude on a tether, inflated with helium, with a giant Bikesport crown and oval on it. Super cool.
If you are doing the Bikesport Ann Arbor Triathlon on Jun 13th, swim toward the blimp!
