The Bible says I should Drink

Proverbs 31:6-7
“Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.”

One modern version says:

Give beer to those who are perishing, wine to those who are in anguish. Let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more.

“Larry is a veteran, I seen him at the store / Six pack of malt liquor—it’s the Prozac of the poor.”

Amen to that!

Please, no more on what the Bible says one should do. It makes the Biblans cranky. (I’m not going to use the term ‘Christians’ anymore, that has led to too many Biblans getting cranky too.)

FWIW, though, I don’t think that regular drinking is enough to count oneself as a good Biblan - you must accept booze as your saviour!

However, adamb, it does remind me that I’d like to buy you a beer one day.

Can I pretend it does tonight?

It also says I should stay away from Red Lobster…

Looks like that drink will come in handy.

Tibbs says you should drink. Drink lots.

Thanks Tibbs, that is my new (and first) signature quote!!
