K.I.S.S. I like HED Carbon Base Bar. Simple and no tongue twisting.

I like the name of the Hed Carbon Base bar. It shows that Hed has nothing to hide and doesn’t spend needlessly on marketing hype…thus passing those savings on to the athlete.

How much are they again?

Where is the 31.8mm x 3" carbon tube that I am using? I think it would probably win the most-aero-at-all-yaw-angles as well as the weight categories!

What the hell is an “RXL”. Vuka kinda sounds cool - like Stuka, the German dive bomber.

Hed keeps it simple. They win round 1.

I agree, I prefer the simple and straightforward name of the HED bars.

The HED name does not say anything. Reminds me of Ralphs Grocery on their in-house brands from years back.

I will go for the Vuka name. RXL sounds like the bars are extra large.

RXL makes me think of a Japanese luxury car.

The HED is just a little TOO simple. Kind of like LeCar.

My vote goes to the Vuka.

HED wins for me as the name is very straigtforward…though I think I read somewhere that vuka is actually also the name of some aphrodisiac from Africa. In which case, that’s very appropriate given the amount of love that Zipp gets on here. :wink:

WTF is a Vuka?? and the HED bars don’t even have a proper name (Carbon base bar isn’t a name, it’s a description). The naming goes to Bontrager by default?

But you should really have Easton in the mix too. Delta Force starring Chuck Norris. Ya Baby.

What I look for in a base bar is:

  1. The ability to mount brake levers to them
  2. The ability to mount aerobars to them
  3. The ability to use for steering my bike when riding out of the aero position

All three bars appear to meet my criteria, so I’d say it is a wash.

Interesting. I guess that Vuka-Vuka will “wake” something else up too;)
