The ultimate international idiocity along these lines is probably Sweden.

They have a 1000+ yr development of Scandinavian culture significant with the Vikings and moving forward and all of a sudden some Swedish politician declared that all of a sudden Sweden was a “multicultural society”, despite they fact they have no colonial history, no world language, etc, etc, but now they are the mother to the world and will accept anybody, in the naive belief that all immigrants to Sweden will regognize the wisdom of the Swedish welfare system and “become Swedes” . Recent riots in in the immigrant suburbs of Malmo and Stockholm should be a wake up call.

Canada is a country of immigrants and we appreciate cultural differences and the variety it can bring, but we have a responsibility to our society to be selective who we allow in. You Aussies should be the the same. Immigration is a privilege, not a right.
