Sounds like a cool plan. Good for you for getting out there and pushing it.
I am thinking about actually adding some structure to my Zwift workouts as well. I need to stop focusing just on leveling up and upgrades.
9/29:
45 minute spin.
Busy day yesterday and today. The next few days are going to be tough to get much in. Heading up to Watkins Glen on Friday morning for a nice weekend getaway around Seneca Lake. The weather looks perfect for Saturday.
Yeah I feel like I need more structure for cycling as well. Right now it’s just “ride as much as I can to get as close as possible to 30000 minutes!” I won’t be close.
Sounds like a fun weekend! Are the colours turning on the trees? Have fun!
I’m golfing tomorrow. Going to be a cold one. High of 55F. See how it goes. Not really looking forward to it. We had today off as a stat and I took Thursday and Friday off to make it a long weekend.
Last year we went the 2nd week of October and the leaves were amazing. This weekend should be beautiful. Enjoy golf. I am playing 9 this afternoon and expect the worst. My neck is still bothering me so I will be taking 3/4 swings. That might help but usually results in a draw (hook if we are being honest, but draw sounds so much better).
9/30:
50 minute spin
200 core reps
200 push ups
September totals:
25 hours and 5 minutes of spinning
4 strength sessions
3,000 core reps
2,350 push ups
Yearly Totals:
174 hours and 10 minutes of spinning
95 strength sessions
45,486 core reps
15,200 push ups
Anything under 90 is great. We had a blast. When it gets tot retime of year and we know we can’t get in a full 18 we play a 2v2 match play scramble. We got in 12 holes and ended in a tie. My friend played like a pro and he usually struggles to break 90, which made it even more fun.
Sounds like an awesome time! I actually like rounds like that where you are playing match or something else. You can have a couple bad holes but still have a good round.
Rode outside today. Such a nice day. Also as I was about to leave my son got home from work. We rode together! So fun!
Watkins Glenn, NY at the southern tip of Seneca Lake. My wife and I started coming up here 4 years ago for a spring weekend getaway. We switched it up to fall last year. The food, wine, and micro breweries are amazing. Friendly people and a cool vibe. I highly recommend it. The Google hike is a 19 minute walk from our hotel room in town. I added a view from our room and last night’s sunset.
What a sunset! Love the photos, looks like a great place to visit. I haven’t been to that area of the state yet, I may need to put it on my to-do list.
It is worth it. If you do let me know and I will share our favorite spots. It can be overwhelming the first few times because there are so many wineries and breweries to choose from.
Did the first stage of the Tour of Watopia. 42km route. Stayed with the first group until the first long climb and got dropped about half way through. That was 10km in. There were three guys about 30 seconds behind me and it took forever for them to catch me. I rode 10km by myself. I should have just immediately dropped back. Rode with them to the end. Ride took 1h 6 min. Average watts were 260. Legs are fried.
Nice!
I’ve been going up every year to drive the track. It’s one of my favorite tracks. I know they also do a biathlon race on the track. And the community allows folks to bike the track for as many loops as you want. Pay at the start. That would be a fun/different way to do the track.
We stay at the Harbor Hotel – looks like you did too?
Open to your suggestions on wineries and breweries too, or other activities you’ve found.
