It was fun watching a great race. Awesome coverage.
Yes, THANKS!
Yes, the coverage was excellent - great video (for as much as I saw of it, I only found out about it halfway thru the run). THX!!
I think they really made a statement. Definitely sent a message. Put the hurt locker on other event coverage for sure.
Made most other events seem pretty Mickey Mouse by comparison.
Thankfully, they did not appear to be using this as a platform for anything else.
I agree…IM and ITU could learn a lot from REV 3
.
Brutal course. Well done race!

On video. Rev3 could learn alot about creating an updated website and timely results. Everyone said video was pretty good, a bit boring but when the sound went out stopped watching. Still newish.
You’ve got to be fucking kidding me. There we have a newish race series that puts on a live coverage which tops the biggest event in triathlon (Kona) and you still complain?

We’ve missed you Uli, where you been?!
Would have to agree, splendid coverage once I got my new computer figured out.
Despite my drunking ramblings on facebook, they did a great job, and by all accounts really put on a class event for all involved over there.
Just got back from Quassy an hour ago after racing Rev3. That’s great that the coverage was so good, because they did a terrific job putting on the race. Well organized, great volunteers, tons of pros and good course that was as tough as advertised - it kicked my ass. I’ve heard some compare the bike course to a loop in Lake Placid… I don’t think so, this course seemed tougher to me. The revised, easier run was tough too, but I don’t think I would’ve done well on even a flat run course after the run today.
We’ve missed you Uli, where you been?!
?
well put enjoyed it also
.
Just wait until they get the real time GPS going where everyone is wearing. Then you will really find watching MORE fun.
Fully agree. The volunteers and staff members were fantastic and everything went so smoothly. I don’t think I waited in line for anything the entire weekend. Organizers must have said their prayers for the weather. Still can’t believe it held up. Great experience alltogether.
My legs are shattered.
Grapes at aid stations are the best thing ever.
…but what’s the story on the hot female doc staffing the med tent?
I agree…IM and ITU could learn a lot from REV 3
It’s great to be in a position to argure who has better coverage when just a few years ago it was zip.
ITU does a great job of getting 5 minute summary videos on thier site within a day or 2 and keeps them there for years. Also has great anouncers.
Rev3 announcing team didn’t seem to have the same data at their finger tips as they should have. Were confused about Crowies status and missed the pass on the women’s side.
IM seems to do as good a job as anyone on getting results up quick. They also are top notch on Clearwater and Kona coverage.
So, huge kudos to Rev3 for entering the game, but they can still get a lot better.
Married to the doctor and she has a 3 year old daughter and from Knoxville Tenn. I spent a lot of time in the tent with a buddy of mine yesterday.
Thanks Rev3 for making the run course uphill both ways! And congrats to Prattzc for crushing my dreams at mile 12 and dropping me en route to pulling off a really nice run. Do this race people, the course is amazing and it will kick your ass.
yes i spent a lot of time in the med tent . the DR & the Drs Wife where both amazing thanks so much for putting me back together.
And a big thank you to the Rev 3 crew for such a great weekend. Cant wait till next season thanks
Oh please, you had a cramp. I considered running the last mile with you, but I know when I get a cramp or have something go wrong, the last thing I want is someone there yaking in my ear about “come on, just one more mile”.
Miranda was the dream crusher out there. Damn, she is smokin fast. And Wassner now has the Chrissy Wellington smile. I was wondering if she was enjoying the hills or if it’s true that the smile techniques helps with breathing.
Unbelievably, there was drafting, even on the uphills. This will be the last time I say anything about drafting while racing as the group got VERY pissed off that I called them out on drafting.
Eric Opedyke, the RD for Rev3 was great, walking around making sure everyone enjoyed themselves.
Matty Reed was very approachable and easy to talk to.
Volunteers were great, community was great. Terrier Tri was giving great support.
Everyone should lay off the announcer, I’ve heard/seen much worse.
Muscle Milk had some serious models out there. Not hard on the eyes, but definitely not athletes.
Great race, great organization, great volunteers, and the weather window opened up just about perfectly to boot. It got pretty messy around 3ish as I was on my way home, heavy wind and rain and trees falling in the road as close as Newtown. Glad that didn’t hit around 10 or 11 am.
I’ve got a few more thoughts, including a couple possible minor improvements for next time around, but I’m just too shelled to expound on them right now.
Small world, prattzc - I believe I was racked next to you. Not that you would have seen or remembered me, as that course kicked my ass all over the place.
I’ll just add Bozzone’s words from Twitter today. “This was the hardest half course in the world.”
