Thank You ST'ers

6 months ago out of nowhere i decided to see if i can do a Triathlon.

3 months later, I completed my very first one.

Today, i did my 3rd tri in 3 months. My second in 2 weeks. However, today was my first reverse tri. Looks like it’s my last race of the season which means my first tri season has officially ended. I can’t wait until my next one on February.

6 months ago, i didn’t know anything about the sport. By being a member of this site, i have learned so much. So thank you everyone for helping and guiding me along the way as i discover this sport further. Thank you for answering my noob questions. Some could have said “you should’ve known” “search button helps” or something else. Everyone is very nice and very informative. Heck, i can even ask about how much air to put on my tires and i end up knowing about aerodynamics and coefficient of drag with relation to the yaw and the size of the pothole (lol, or something like that).

I can’t pay you guys back for the info you have shared but i will pay it forward to others somehow.

So, since it’s off-season…strength training??? LOL

I’m guessing it was the Tinsel Tri. Congrats and welcome to the “family”! Here on ST, it’s a dysfunctional one for sure. Off season? Since you’re obviously in SoCal, there IS no off season! I had my last race last weekend (HITS in Palm Springs). I continue to swim/bike/run 6 days/week, but dial down to about 90 minutes/day for the next 4-6 weeks before starting to build again for some trail races and the Oceanside 70.3. Just keep going brother!

Just show a kid how to swim with his face in the water, or remind them not to ride without a helmet. Then just tell them about triathlon, your enthusiasm will be enough to spark it in them to do one for themselves one day.

I think you just became my favorite poster for telling us to tell you to search for the info. I have a tear in my eye.
