I told them I’ve got busts of George Washington, Sam Houston, Abraham Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan. I’ve got four busts in my office. I was like, “Man, if I could get Winston Churchill, I’d have what may have been the five most influential men in history.
“one of these things…is not like the others…one of these things…just doesn’t belong”
I don’t understand the second one. That makes no sense to me. The other two make sense.
However, it should be noted, this is what he said at the end:
“I don’t know,” Perry said when asked if he believed the birth certificate was real. “I had dinner with Donald Trump the other night. … He doesn’t think it’s real. … I don’t have any idea. It doesn’t matter. the President of the United States. He’s elected. It’s a distractive issue.”
In his defense, I don’t think Perry would’ve brought it up unprompted, but I also think he knows he can score conservative points by giving a wink and a nod to it, while also scoring points with others for calling it a mere distraction. Given his task and his base, it seems to me he played his hand about right.
Except for that middle part about Obama never seeing his BC. Still scratching my head over what that has to do with anything.
O’Reilly pressed Perry on whether he thought it was valid for people’s opinions to change over time.
“Some people are okay with people evolving and some people aren’t,” O’Reilly said. “Do you respect the evolution that the governor might have gone through?”
Perry dismissed the idea.
“How do you change at the age of 50 or 60 positions on life, positions on guns, positions on traditional marriage,” he said. “I mean those aren’t minor issues, Bill. So to change those at the age of 50 or 60 tells you all you need to know about that.”
Didn’t Perry recently realize the error of his ways regarding the HPV public health initiative? Seems to me that qualifies as one of those major issues someone of his age should have been clear on by now.
And it wasn’t that long ago that he was a Democrat working to elect Al Gore. I’m not sure why people aren’t constantly calling him on his attacks on Romney for not being a life-long Conservative. What kind of administration does he think Al Gore would’ve assembled?
goddammit. You have to change the title of this. You’ve suckered me three times now. I read the title of the thread and go “Oh! I’m a Texan now, maybe I can help!” 'Cuz see I’m unemployed (interview tomorrow! hopefully won’t be unemployed much longer), and want to be useful.
Then I read your post, and think “oh. Nope, can’t help with that shit. That’s beyond help…” So disappointing!
