Tesla doing Led Zepplin

Not a half-bad job. The new Real to Reel CD is very good.

I saw Led Zepplin live back in 1970 when I was 18 yrs old. This as just before their third album was released and they played some of their Led Zeppin III songs for the first time in concert. Been convinced ever since that nobody can do Led Zepplin like Led Zepplin.

Thes guys are pretty decent however.

Sweet. Can’t top that. The best I can do is throw on the original cd’s or listen to Tesla or Great White (which is killer by the way) do a cover. Lucky bastard.

My dad will rub it in every now and then about seeing Zepplin, seeing Hendrix, seeing AC/DC with Bon Scott, seeing the original Skynyrd, etc. He’s 56 so I’m sure you could swap some stories. You old farts had all the fun. ; )

"You old farts had all the fun. ; ) "

I can’t argue with that. We baby boomers had it pretty damn good.

Interesting that both my kids (23 & 18) love Led Zepplin and other 60/70’s long haired bands. I couldn’t have imagined listening to my parents music such as Glen Miller, etc when I was that age.

I meant seeing Zep live back in the day, but it’s all good.

Since we’re swapping videos, here’s Great White doing Zepplin…

I always felt that Silent Lucidity was the most flagrant Pink Floyd rip off ever. From copying Gilmore’s vocals, guitar work, to the orchestration, the odd speaking voices, etc… Sounds like half a dozen Pink Floyd songs sampled and edited. Sorry, not impressed with them as a band.

I believe you are thinking of Queensryche, not Tesla.

Wow, my memory really is toast. Sorry for messing up the thread.

You need to check out the tribute album led Zepplin by Great white . I have a few downloaded and listened to a few samples on Itunes "to me " they nail it . Sample " 53. Ramble on "

I saw them in 1973 when Houses of the Holy was released. I’d like to go back in time being the person I’m today and seeing this concert in 1973.

Nowadays I’m having fun listening to symphonic Led Zeppelin or the bluegrass versions of these songs. Even Dread Zeppelin is fun if you’re in the right mood.

Tesla? People still like Tesla? Gonna catch them on tour with Europe?

Aren’t you in Dallas? If so you can check them out. Sorry no Europe. You’ll have to listen to Carrie on the CD.

No Tesla. The cats mating behind my house last night sounded better. Robert Earl Keen is coming to town though.

Now that cat, no pun intended, can write some songs. Great storyteller!
