i want to be good enough to get my own custom 808s
.

More important than custom stickers. Note the drop in drag between pic 1 and pic 2.
If they held position constant (and it appears they did) then that is a massive improvement thanks to the new frame. Puts it strong contention for ‘fastest’ title.

Nils got it wrong. Those are 1080’s, not 808’s.

EDIT: The rear wheels are 1080’s. The fronts might be 808’s. Either way, the one he captioned as an 808 is definitely the 1080.

I noticed that too.

Whoa, that was from today…

That’s some fast reporting!

Different yaw angles for each pic, keep that in mind.

Possibly. But if you look at the yellow graph of drag vs time it looks like photo 2 was taken at a more flattering time, assuming the numbers are point in time measurements. Either way, the yellow graph seems to show he has been making some adjustments in his body position during the test having significant influence on the Cda.

Kicking myself now that I wasn’t into biking when at uni. We had one of the biggest wind tunnels in Europe in my Mech Eng department and were Ford Europe’s major research uni so it was well set up. Testing bikes would’ve been a lot more interesting than testing turbine blades and aerofoils.

Agreed. 0.4deg of yaw and 9.99deg are VERY different.

Unfortunately, the mechanics are not Slowtwitch approved. Notice that they clamped to a carbon top tube.

Terenzo will be appearing at Sunrise Tri on June 8th. If you have any questions relating to the wind tunnel testing, send them my way and I will ask him
