That’s a good point about HUggins. I’ve always been a Huggins fan, as I usually like the type of tough, almost “thuglike” teams (especially the Bad Boy Detroit Pistons), and Huggin’s Bearcat team Leavvitt, Michael, and Martin were classic.
I would say the difference in THIS situation is Huggins didn’t leave a top 10 program to join another program. Kansas State had to know Huggins was gone if anyone decent showed interest.
BUt, now I’m asking “Was Huggins the one that recruited Beasley?”
I never said Rodriguez is a bad guy, I said greedy. My post was about football.
That being said…
I am NOT a fan of Bobby Huggins, nor will I ever be. He ruined the Cincy b’ball program and would have done the same had he stayed at K State. I can be convinced otherwise about Huggins if he stays sober, sets a good example and gets his players to graduate. Things he could not do at either of his past schools.
Even in light of their recent basketball success, with Coach B’s players, I think WVU’s basketball program has hit its’ high note for awhile.
Believe it or not…I am probably one of the few who bleed Michigan and OSU blood. Lived in Ann Arbor area as a kid and my sister got her graduate degree there…I went to OSU for grad school.
