Tell me about longhorn 70.3

don’t forget that Austin is the home of Whole Foods and The Mothership is close to downtown. It’s the single most AMAZING Whole Foods I have ever been to. Not a fancy restaurant, but a great place to fuel up for the race no doubt!

1st- How JEALOUS am I of everyone doing the race… I love that race but am unable to do it this year… darn injury (finally back to running a lot though) and stupid work schedule!

2nd- Kerbey Lane- YUMMERS! Ate there 2 or 3 times last year when we were out there for the race

3rd- WHOLE FOODS! favorite food place ever…and they have a nice little place to eat in there that is worth going.

Have fun!

edit: oops… I’m not from Austin…mispelled Kerbey…fixed…I think!

no doubt- Juan in a Million on East 1st street (just not to impress your wife)
.

Check out the BBQ, Bee Cave Road has a few good restaurants.

Kirby Lane

To reduce frustration, look for Kerbey Lane Cafe. You’ll have more success. There’s one on South Lamar south of Town Lake (that’s right, I refuse to call it “Ladybird Lake”), one north on Guadalupe just a bit north of UT, and one far northwest on 183 near Anderson Mill Road, I believe.

And…there’s one on KERBEY LANE. just off of 35th.

I vote for Guero’s on Congress as the best Mex in town.

What is the deal with Auburn stealing LSU’s macot…and then having like 2 other mascots? Eagles? Farmers or something? I don’t get it.

Anyway, I drove the bike course yesterday and wow it’s 100% hills. There didn’t seem to be a lot of flats. Cracks in the pavement were “fixed” with black asphalt over the top. So now they are kind of bumpy but it’s probably better than having a hole in those places. I noticed that a large portion of the ride passes near a town called Manville. There are so many jokes to be made about this…I don’t know where to start!

The WFM in Austin is, I think, one of the original ones. It’s HUGE and has everything in it.

The hills are not that bad, only ~800 feet of climbing through the whole bike course. It usually comes in little spurts and grades.

The Whole foods downtown is the Flagship store and HQ for the entire operation. The “left” side with prepared food is a blast and epitomizes the phrase paralyzation by choice.
