The 16 year old girl that was doing the solo sail is missing. Apparently some distress beacons have been triggered.
Hopefully she will be okay. If not - was it worth it?

I’ve read a few books about the Vendee Globe race and about other solo sailors and it would be harrowing to say the least to have your boat knocked down repeatedly in those conditions. The boats have escape hatches in the hull so I wonder if it’s possible that the beacon was set off and she is in the boat?
Feel sorry for the girl because ash ahs idiots as parents. I think a strong case for child endangerment can be made. If a 30 yr old wants to do it, fine, but a 16 yr old is still under her parents supervision.
