First let me qualify this question with the fact that I am not a good cyclist. Hitting 40+MPH on a curvy downhill, especially when a bit wet and minor rubble is on the road…well scares the hell out if me.
That being said I can only guess that I m not alone in this “discomfort”.
This weekend a group of people and I did a couple of the main loops of the IMWI course. At one part there is a fairly decent, by my standards, decent, that falls in the above category.
The question is how are these portions of the course handled during the race? I can only imagine there will be a mixture of people from the “Confident and crazy” to the “Timid and tight”. I can also only imagine that if the moons of both groups rise in the same house there will be problems. What’s the best way to approach these sections in a race with 2000 of your closest friends in order to A) be safe B) not cause problems with others and C) not loose to much time clenched on the brakes?
