Team USA

I raced Musselman this weekend, loved it, such a great time, beautiful course with amazing support. It’s my 3rd HIM.

Just got a letter from USAT saying i have earned a spot on the roll down list for the 2009 Long Course World Championships, because of my Musselman finish. I’m blown away. I’m sure it wont get to me, but still, nice email to get on my birthday.

Congrads! You should consider it!!!

Dave

i replied yes.

i guess see what happens.

I could be the next jamaican bobsled team!!!

Na, you do not go there to “race”, IMO. You go to celebrate your results, and have a great time. If you end up racing, great, but
enjoy the trip and wearing the red/white and blue!!! I leave in 6 weeks with all 6 of my family members on TeamUSA in the Aquathlon
at Gold Coast. I could not be more proud!!!

Dave

Congrats you guys. I’m envious! I just resigned my spot on the team. Racing in Australia would have been way too cool!

Going to cost me way too much money, but even though I continue to look for a job, I cannot let money stop a once in a lifetime family adventure.

Sorry to hear you have to drop out. Sure is as “cheap” as it ever will be to race there.

Dave

I agree with you. You will have memories you can never replace. I was thinking today of some great times on my trips on the teams.

Got a “philosophic” disagreement that prevents me from going…

sorry to hear. One reason getting my family involved. When they want to do something, easy for me to just tag along. :o)

Dave

Oh, not family. That would be fine…an organization

Hope you can fix that in the future

Congratulations and Happy Birthday!

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if you get the slot. In 2006 at Long Course Worlds in Canberra, AUS, there were still unfilled slots from the USA in my age-group (M45-49). If you get a slot and have the money and time, I recommend going. I had a blast in Australia.

Thanks. Me too. I think all of us in the sport can fix it

thanks!!!

I guess i will find out in the next couple of weeks. Would make for a great story.

Long course at the Worlds isn’t as hard to get into as the short course. Kona takes a lot of the fast long course athletes. You’ll probably make it there if you want to go.
