Team USA non tri events

My fiancée and I are considering trying to get onto team USA In aquathlon and aquabike respectively. Anyone ever take this rout? Was it fun? Was it expensive? (Other than the obvious international flight)

expensive. I think it was $300 to buy a kit from them, then $300 to enter the race. When it was in Canada… so I would have had to drop 3k$ + when you factor flight and lodging, just for 1k swim 5k run that essentially means nothing. I stayed here were my local aquathlons just as competitive as we have D1 schools with runners/swimmers jumping into our races

It tends to be a ton less competitive as opposed Olympic distance and Sprint triathlon qualifications… so qualifying is easier. My wife is getting into multi-sport a little and doesn’t like riding. She currently has like 18 people registered for her AG at Miamiman… which means with almost certaintly if she finishes, she’ll get an invite. We’re thinking about doing the same… me doing the LD Aquabike and Aquathlon for her.

Otherwise TeamUSA is generally ~$1k with a new uniform purchase, race entry, $50 admin fee and parade kit. The rest is travel expenditures to where ever Worlds is.

Wow that’s basically us… except for me it’s a lot about not being able to run more than 3 miles without my ankles killing me anymore.
