Team Slowtwitch drops out of elite top 1%

For several years now, a handful of slowtwitchers have graciously donated the use of the computers when they weren’t being used to benefit Stanford University’s Folding@home project. Joining our computing power with the nearly half a million other computers already working for the project, we’ve become an integral part of the solution.

But, with the recent slowdown in our contributions, we slipped out of the top 1% of teams this last year. So for any of you out there who didn’t know about the project, or didn’t know we have a team, you are invited to participate. It doesn’t cost you a thing. You don’t even notice it on your computer. You can read more and sign up to the SlowTwitch team (#48475) here: http://folding.stanford.edu/

Folding@home is a distributed computing project hosted by Standford University – people from throughout the world download and run software to band together to make one of the largest supercomputers in the world. Every computer takes the project closer to our goals. Folding@home uses novel computational methods coupled to distributed computing, to simulate problems millions of times more challenging than previously achieved.
