Team Donkey takes it in the shorts! Obama 0 for 4!

I figured the asinine post from The Lorax needed an equally asinine post from the other side, so, here you go!

Sen. Arlen Specter’s primary loss continues bad 2010 for President Obama, Democrats

WASHINGTON - Tuesday’s balloting is a fresh reminder of what all the combatants have understood for months: It’s a lousy year to be a Democrat, an incumbent or President Obama.
At the very least, Democratic majorities in the Senate and House will shrink significantly this November.

I want to change my name to Team Donkey!

I figured the asinine post from The Lorax needed an equally asinine post from the other side, so, here you go!

Mission accomplished.

Hey, at least I admit it in my posts …

I’m not entirely sure how Specter’s loss is an indication of anything, unless people think he was a sure thing to win the election.

I’m not entirely sure how Specter’s loss is an indication of anything, unless people think he was a sure thing to win the election.

Specter’s loss is not good for the Republicans, as Sestak will be a much more formidable opponent.

It seems like people are focusing on Specter’s loss has, “people not being happy with Democrats in office.” I view this as he wasn’t Democrat enough for the Democrats.

I probably would have voted for him mainly because he’s moderate…but, then again, I’m not a registered Democrat or a reason, so people who think like me aren’t voting in the Democratic primary.

I’m not entirely sure how Specter’s loss is an indication of anything, unless people think he was a sure thing to win the election.

If anything, it possibly indicates backlash for incumbants. However, Specter was not a “real” Democrat, so, I think the “real” Dems wanted a “real” Dem candidate.

All-in-all, I do not view last night’s results are indicative of much at all. But, I will take any opportunity I can to tweak The Lorax …

On another thread someone said/claimed that Obama had been backing Specter. So this becomes an “Obama loss” because Specter had his support, and was viewed an an Obama guy.

I view this as he wasn’t Democrat enough for the Democrats.

I think you are right. The right wants this to be more than it is, but what the primaries have shown is the anti-incumbency is alive and well, and that it seems like the parties are moving either farther right or farther left.

If you need an idea of how that will work…check out the political gridlock in California.

“Viewed as an Obama guy” ???

Obama campaigned for the looser!!!

Obama campaigned for the looser!!!

I hate Obama. For once, do you think he could campaign for the tighter?

I see I got you good ol boys good un riled up.

Face it, the only bellweather race yesterday was the special election in PA and you got whupped good and proper. A district that McCain carried, the only district in the nation that Kerry won and Obama lost as a matter of fact, and you couldn’t get your guy anywhere close. This is a genuine swing district and if the Republican party thinks its going to win 40 plus seats in November it needs to win seats that lean much more liberal than this one. Critz won by what? 8 points? not even close, a landslide. The RNC put a million bucks into Burns and got stomped. Another teabag in the trashcan.

I hope you nominate hundreds of these wingnuts before November.

And Obama firmly backed Specter who got trounced, which now makes Obama 0-4 in elections. Hee-hee!

Face it, Sparky, your boy is officially “The Cooler.” He is the kiss of death. Team Donkey should have him out there campaigning for Repubs. It’s the only chance they have!

Bwaaaahaaaaahaaaaa!

“As Specter tanked, Obama couldn’t be found in the Keystone State. He and his handlers didn’t want to risk more embarrassment after Obama campaigned for losing gubernatorial candidates in New Jersey and Virginia and couldn’t keep state Sen. Scott Brown from claiming Edward Kennedy’s Senate seat.”

You want to try and address any of the point I made or just contine to bleat?

This is my asinine thread in response to your asinine thread. Therefore, in this thread, I get to play the role played by you in every other thread. I get to respond to the questions I want to, not the questions asked. I get to talk out my ass without any basis for anything I say. I get to play the fool!

Damn! It’s FUN being you!

Oh yeah, here’s your boy:

Why do you hate The Lorax so much? Good God, man! He speaks for the trees!!!

;-p

I think we’re looking at a much larger anti-incumbent backlash – against both parties – than we are something aimed specifically at the President. Certainly, everybody from the establishment (Lincoln, Specter, Critz – who was a longtime aide to Murtha – etc.) ran as far away as they could from the possibility of being associated with Washington, DC. It also showed that the farther right and left elements in each party are turning out.

Lincoln got all she could handle from Halter, who’s being supported by Moveon.org and many labor unions, and now she’s in a runoff with him, having only garnered 43% of the vote in the Arkansas Democratic primary. The right thinks the government is doing too much and the left feels it isn’t doing enough, for what it’s worth. Whether the far left feels any real animus towards Barack Obama remains to be seen. Certainly, the right’s been energized by his tenure so far. We’ll know more over the summer, as Joe Sestak (a retired Rear Admiral (Upper Half)…he was serving as a three-star Vice Admiral but when he was forced out by Admiral Mike Mullen he reverted to his permanent two-star rank) and Pat Toomey beat up on each other.

Rand Paul also easily triumphed over the establishment Republican in Kentucky, demonstrating that the nascent tea party movement seems to be feeling its oats. It can now claim at least 2 scalps (Bob Bennett in UT and Trey Grayson in KY) with the promise of more on the way. This year is definitely shaping up to be a sour one for the old school/old way of doing things.

You can start cheering when the tea party takes out a Democrat in a competitive seat. Right now they are eating their own in Republican primaries. When these wingnuts run in largely moderate swing districts they’ll lose. Ask that guy who got whupped in the most conservative Democratic seat in the country how the tea party message resonates with blue collar “Reagan” Democrats.
