Tea for rehydration

After a run or ride, I typically drink a half quart or so of gatorade and or some water.

After showering, and ready for relaxation, I like to have a pot or two of tea, usually decaf black tea or Earl Grey.

Anyone have any thoughts on tea for rehydration?

Hmm, I have no idea. I drink mint tea because it reminds me of the Sahara. I drink a lot of tea. I wonder…

When I would get tired of Gatorade years ago I would switch to Nestea Ice Tea as my drink for long bikes/runs. I love the flavour of that stuff.

Tea, as is coffee, is a diaretic and therefore will not aid hydration, in fact the opposite.

It depends on if he is drinking a decaf type tea. I think that many herbal teas would not be a diuretic.

Herbal teas wouldn’t you are right.

I have read that Tea stops the body from asorbing Iron
.

Would not absorbing iron be a case of dehydration? I’m not sure.
