TDF-TT: Cadel Evans "Ridley"

Hey,

Was it just me, or did the TT bike that Cadel was riding not a Ridley?

Obviously not the Ridley TT bike (and not a Walser, Like all the Gerolstiener boys were rolling!)

In fact, looking at the tube shapes and the seatpost, and seatstay/chainstays…That looked like a re-badged Planet-X or Velo Vie?

Anyone else pick up on that?

yeah, it was a “planet X” type frame. there are a ton of “brands” that use that frame.

Yeah, that frame is sold under six or so different brand names. I think you can find it on alibaba.com under “carbon triathlon bicycle”

i heard somebody say in a bike pjorn thread that “you are all gonna be hard for a week when you see the new ridley tt bike.” that may not have been it, but there is a new ridley tt bike in the works.

I guess this proves that spending more money on equipment isn’t everything.

Yup - sure looks exactly like my Planet X frame. He had a great ride today as well. Still in GC contention with a pretty good supporting team!

I just got one ill post pics up as soon as i take them…its the same exact frame as the Planet X…sweeeeeeet ride i must admit though i wont know till next sundays 70 miler
