TDF TT bikes

Is Cadel Evans’ Ridley really a Ridley?

Also, Michael Rassmussen’s Colnago…my gut feeling, based on a few frame details, is that he is on another frame with the Colnago logo.

Without question, Alejandro Valverde’s Pinarello is definitely a Pinn Montello.

We all remember some years ago the TDF riders on Cervelo’s branded otherwise…

yeah… theres two other threads discussing this exact topic. Rasmussen is on the Giant TT bike (for a couple years now). Predictor guys are all on the rebadged planet x ect… bike

cadel’s ridley is a Planet X :stuck_out_tongue:

chicken’s colnago is a giant
.

Evan’s Ridley TT bike is the same frame as the Planet X , Stevens, etc… look at the distinctive chainstays…

I love how people repeat things, not just one repeat, but a few repeats. by the way Evans and Predictor is on Planet X ect… and Rasmussen is on a Giant

Hey airsoft510,

Just wanted to jump in (because you “love how people repeat things”) and clear up the confusion.

Evans and Predictor is on Planet X ect… and Rasmussen is on a Giant.

(Sorry, I just couldn’t resist, heh, heh)

Sorry to bother you with my repeat… didn’t see the previous post…

no problem, its just been happening to me on every forum, not just slow twitch… i had to vent a little

Sorry to bother you with my repeat… didn’t see the previous post…

Oh I was just teasin’ ya!

Cadel’s Ridley was a velo vie or a Planet X - same exact bike, super cheap.

Rasmussen’s Colnago frame was a Giant, but the decals were made by Colnago.

Don’t repeat… it’s bad

The urge was impossible to resist!

are ya sure the stickers were made by colnago?

I heard there was a Planet X bike at the grassy knoll also.

The decals were actually made in a factory in Taiwan that makes the stickers all other bike brands. But they put them on the bike in Italy…so that counts.

If you did train with Thomas, your memories would make an excellent post sometime. I remember him in NZ in 2000 when he just smashed the field on the second lap of the bike. Truly amazing on a tough (hot) day. Whatsmore, he was a great guy to have a chat with - made time to sit down and have a chat with us AGers. It would be interestign to hear a bit more about him and his training methods.

Greetings and salutations,
Actually, that’s just my new end-of-post thing. It used to have sponsors, but now that I’m old-and-in-the-way, washed up, has-been, with-non-working-parts, I had to come up with something. :>)

Seriously, I’ve met Thomas a few times. Good guy. I can tell you that he trained hard. Very hard. Monster mileage, err, kilometerage, or something like that… And very serious, no fu$%ing around.

Most likely that Giant/Velo Vie/Planet X…all the same bike, different brands/marketers. There are only a few mold-blowers/carbon frame makers and nearly all in Taiwan, as I’ve heard.

Kommst du aus Deutschland, oder? There are very few North Americans who know about Stevens, Ziemens, Pearl, and some of the other Euro tri/tt brands.

But wait…one of those bikes looks just like a Blink (WHICH IS INDEED THE SAME DAMN FRAME)…again, dif marketers/brands…
