TDF DVD's. Which Tour(s) to watch?

I’m headed out on deployment soon, and I’ll be gone on and off for the next couple years. I’m thinking of getting the DVD sets for a couple of the Lance Tour wins to watch on the ship, and was wondering if anyone has opinions on which ones make the best viewing. They’ll be on for white noise sometimes, and for stationary bike time if I can get it (probably not much).

I would get the 2003 TdF. Not only because I saw several of the stages, but it was a great overall race, lots of excitement! Lance’s crash, Beloki’s crash, Lance riding through a field…

99 is a classic, with the old school stuff still in use and the fun seeing Lance do his thing for the first time.

2000 is pretty good, with some great stages and a rare Lance bonk

2001 is where Lance is at his best and the racing is exciting from start to finish

2002 is the formula year that saw lance get beat in a TT, and then just do enough to get the time to win easily.

2003 was the year Lance nearly fell from the top and Ulrich, Vino, et al were all hitting on cyclinders. The Beloki crash, Hamilton’s rides and Lance’s crash in the pyrenees are all great to watch

2004 was a good year to see Lance not have the same kick but show the meanest most fierce tactical lesson not seen since Hinault.

2005 was ok, but not nearly as good as others.

Regards,

Thanks. Is there a relatively cheap place to get them? I was checking them out on Velogear.com and the 2004 is like $90.

If you go the Ebay route you can get the 99-07 Tour De France from the Discovery Channel Store for $99.00. It’s roughly 4 hours per year. Just do a search for “Lance 7 DVD” and it should pull it up.

1998, Pantani joins the greats!, It’s great to watch that guy climb, plus, it comes with a special program, ten years at the tour. You get hightlights of the past ten years.

World Cycling Productions has good prices on all the various packages (99-07, individual years, 4 hour, 12 hour, etc.)

.

Thanks. Those are considerably cheaper than the other places I looked so far.
