Tax Day!

Yeah! April 15th Tax Day! For all of you beotches in the lower tax brackets, how about a big freaking thank you to those subsidizing your existence.

Don’t you mean extension-filing day
.

So is this your official thank you? Don’t you pay less than your fair share?

Does that little dig apply to the lowly paid men and women of the Armed Forces?

Seems to me you’re making some big assumptions about both (1) the facts and (2) the moral meaning of the facts.

I’d be hesitant to speak for P_T, but I suspect the answer is no. Only to those who demand so much and yet give so little in return!

that has never impeded us before in the LR!

Sorry, i couldn’t tell from the broad brush he was using.

congratulations! Obama thinks you’re rich!

We get another 15 days here in Canada and I’m going to need them!!

I’m officially declaring April 15th as:

“Where the fuck is my new kitchen…biaaaatchhes” day.

Today’s a great day! I found out last week that we significantly overpaid our taxes for 2008. Time to party, the tea’s on me!

So you are happy that you are an idiot and can’t do a proper tax projection?

Today is “Stupid 1099 consulting shit because I had to write them a big check” day.

I’m going out on a limb and guessing that you are not self-employed. People who estimate usually base the estimates on the prior year. 2007 was a better year for many people. A lower tax bill is the silver lining of making less.

Seems to me you’re making some big assumptions about both (1) the facts and (2) the moral meaning of the facts.

Does starting a statement with “seems to me” absolve yourself of making similar assumptions? ; ^ )

Yes, I have to make a lot of assumptions here, as he only posted a short blurb. The first question is, of course, what is meant by “subsidising.” Is a subsidy simply receiving money that you never earned? For example, if I make $12,000 this year and end up with a total of $13,000 of net income, then we probably agree that that is a subsidy soming from somewhere outside of my personal earnings. However, what if I make $12,000 and end up with $11,500, yet send my kids to public school, which costs the tax payers $9,000 per student per year. Would that be considered no subsidy, or am I coming up $8,500 short of my “fair share?” This simple model, of course, does not include the roads I drive on, the police protection I receive, or my contribution to spreading democracy across the globe…even where it is not wanted.

My guess would be, based solely on the fact that Pedalsaurus-tex has established himself to be not much more than a simpleton and a myopic whiny little bitch, is that he uses the same guage that most people like him do. A “subsidy” is probably those who pay less than…oh…himself.

Notice later that LTin83 mentioned he paid twice the median household in taxes. I have no reason to believe that he really understands math, but likely picked the median rather than the average purely because it makes him feel more justified knowing that he is “well above his fair contribution.” Its really an easier position to bitch from.

But, as I’m sure you know, “median” has little relavence here. Lets consider, for example, a hypothetical Utopia which consist of exactly five equal sized classes of citizens…LTin83s, RobCinFLs, BarryPdeltas, BarryPgammas, and BarryP epsilons. In this Utopia, the three BarryP classes each pay $2,000/ year in taxes. The Ltin83s pay $4,000/ year in taxes. Finally, the RobCinFL pasy a gazillion dollars in taxes. In this utopia, the streets are paved with gold, danishes arrive at the door step every morning, and every citizen receives a free massage with a happy ending at 5 O’clock every day.

In this scenario, no doubt, the LTin83s feel that they are paying their “fair share” since they pay “double the median” in taxes, while the BarryPs are living a life that can only be so good as it is subsidized by the wealthy…and possibly the Ltin83s themselves…even though the LTin83s are also benefiting greatly from the wealth of the RobCs.

Whether or not the total tax base or amount of government services shouls be lowered is a different discussion altogether. What we are talking about here is based entirely on how the system currently works and who should be thanking whom for benefiting from it. My favorite bitchers are the students who pay no taxes, and the entry level teachers who pay far less than the average…the government workers are also amusing.

Your limb is damned shaky. Wife is self employed. I work for a family that are all self employed and I do their projections. Sure its abit stickier if you are self employed but its not all that hard to do projections if you can watch your business and read some forms.

The overwhelming majority of people getting huge refunds back are w2 employees that simply don’t understand they are giving the government an interest free loan. That and they think they are actually winning because they are paying less taxes. Total 'tards.

It was a weird year: layoff, severance, new house, etc. Regarding idiocy: If I was REALLY smart, I would have done a good tax projection and I would have in all likelihood been investing money in the stock market all through 2008!! Hee, hee, hee…
