The Donald wants his military parade. America should finally get a chance to properly celebrate him.

Celebration of the nation’s birthday in our capital has for the most part always been apolitical. If all he wanted to add were some tanks rolling down Constitution and some jets flying over the Mall, I don’t think he’d catch too much shit. Hell, folks might even be impressed enough such they might give him credit for adding some punch to the song and dance show that is growing tiresome.
His intention I think is to address the crowd from the Lincoln Memorial. The foreboding thought here is he will turn it into a celebration of him and not our Nation as he has no sense of history, beyond his own.
WDC area residents for sure are not ready for a campaign event on the Mall on the 4th. Hoping it doesn’t turn that way. Even if it is not about him and it is not campaign BS, regardless of how good an actor he is or how well written his speech is, there is no way in hell I will ever be patriotically inspired listening to words that come out of his mouth.

We’re not really having a military parade. We’re having a parade that includes “invited bands, fife and drum corps, floats, military and specialty units, giant balloons, equestrian, drill teams, VIP’s, national dignitaries, and celebrity participants.“
There are a few military units included. The couple of tanks that are supposedly “rolling†through the National Mall will actually be static displays, i.e. not moving, along with a few other armored vehicles and associated crews. There will be fly overs as well.
