I’ve got a couple of 9mm’s (XDM, m&p pro, m&p 9c) and a .22(M&p22).
I’m looking for a trail/truck handgun in a larger caliber.
Nothing gucci, something that can get wet and dirty, (like my truck). No conceal carry.
I was thinking polymer for the wet and dirty part. Thinking .45 vs 10mm. I’d like to keep it reasonably priced as well.
I fired a Glock 20 and liked it. Ammo not widely available, but I am going to start reloading as soon as I make up my mind on a press. Plus it’s different.
I certainly cannot. I love my two glocks 20 and 29 and want a delta elite.
But better learn to reload if you want any real power on the cheap. Double tap and buffalo do full power. Georgia arms sells adequate power for target practice. Everyone else sucks.
First thing that sticks out to me is spending $400 for an unknown brand polymer 10mm. That is a big caliber, in a plastic gun, from a not well renowned manufacturer. It may just be me but I have never heard of that manufacturer and I would not trust them to make a plastic gun that I would want to shoot a 10mm out of.
I am no anti-plastic gun snob, I have plenty of them, just from reputable manufacturers like Springfield and Walther.
The second thing that sticks out to me is the 10mm. Hard to find ammo and when you do it is spendy. .45 is available in abundance most of the time. If we get another ammo scare you might have a hard time finding brass or bullets to even do your reloading let alone factory ammo.
I would stick with .45 or if you want something a little different go with a .44Mag or maybe a gun that can shoot .45 Colt, 410 shot and .454 Casull. Or if you want something a little bigger than a 9mm but not too crazy the .40 S&W is a nice round. I have a Springfield XDm in .40 and I really like it.
So, you fired a 10mm. Have you fired 100 rounds through a 10mm? Do that and get back to me.
Glock 21. Talon Grips. Add Talon Grip strips to the rear end of the sides of the slide. If you want bling, replace the sight w/ Trijicon night sites and install a Punisher rear slide plate.
/thread
EDIT TO ADD: I put my Talon Grip strips on the back of the slide so it does not interfere with the holster. I also put one on top of the slide. Like this, but, with the strips pushed back. Rain, snow, gloves, doesn’t matter. Easy to rack.
EAA is a well respected brand (i don’t know about the specific model you are looking at) with multiple IPSC world titles to its name. For your need I would get a 44 magnum revolver. I prefer S&W but Ruger and Taurus are fine. Use 44 special in it most of the time and carry magnum when you need it. I personally would use a Ruger single action myself. 10mm is hard to find and expensive (not that 44 mag is real cheap). Most importantly, revolvers have character, especially single action.
Quit messing around and go for some real power - Desert Eagle .50 cal. It’s also available in .44 Mag if you want more readily available ammo, and it’s a heck of a lot of fun to shoot
As many have mentioned…Simply the availability and price of ammo. 45 is the way to go.
I have a Sig P220 Super Match, clay pigeons at 20 yards don’t stand a chance.

Are you ball busting? You shoot at clays with a pistol? Hope it’s way out in the sticks!
If age isn’t an issue I’m not sure you could find a tougher more rugged gun that a Tokarev. I have fired a Yugoslav manufactured 33, can’t recall what it’s actual number was, but was based off the TT-33. Had to have been 60 years old thing performed like a beast.
For a wet and dirty rig that has proven itself throughout wars all over the world the last 75 years, laugh if you want, but damn the thing has quite a rep for reliability. The super old stuff the Soviets made I’m pretty sure was a not a well thought out design. The guy who owned the Yugoslav variant was telling me all the differences and I want to say the original had no safety catch of any kind other than a partially cocked position. Um yea.
Do what I did. Get a glock 20 and but a complete glock 21
Slide from glockmeister for 360 bucks and and some mags. Then you have both. When I shot 3 gun, I used my glock 21 slide. Cleaned it when I got home and put the 20 slide on and put it in my night stand safe.
By the way. EEA is good to go. Not my favorite but not Saturday night special grade. I thought they were connected to cs or somebody like that.
Does anybody use those besides bad guys in movies? I always felt a piston driven handgun was over the top, but it was developed by the Israeli military for some purpose.
