Taking decals off Easton SLX?

Totally superficial question:

Can I take the decals off my Easton SLX fork, and, if so, how?

I like everything about this fork, except for the red decals.

Check over at weightweenies… it involves sandpaper and lots of patience.

Yeah, Ves did it for me, involved sand paper and clear coat.

Any old clear coat? From a hardware store?

I have no idea.

Why not just use some electrical tape to cover the red area rather than possibly making it look much worse by sanding and then attempting to re-clearcoat the fork? Also, give that you’ll inevitably take sandpaper to the fork, you can probably consider your warranty null and void.
