Taken from The UK "The Sun": SAS and Delta Force Close In On Zarqawi

The Sun (a London broadstreet) is claiming that British SAS (Special Air Service) and American Delta Force operatives have isolated Abu Musab al-Zarqawi to an area in the town of Latifyah, where Brit Ken Bigley was believed to have been killed the other day. Latifyah is about 22 miles southwest of Baghdad. Intel units believe they have identified the specific neighborhood where Zarqawi is holed up, and signals intelligence folks have intercepted communications between Zarqawi and al-Qaeda sympathizers in the area.

Here’s wishing the special ops guys good luck and good hunting.

That’s ironic, because the Queen of Latifyah is starring in a new American movie with Jimmy Fallon

Seriously, I hope it’s true. Any idea on how reliable this paper is?

Here’s wishing the special ops guys good luck and good hunting.

Amen to that.

If there is one the SUN is NOT, it is being a broadsheet newspaper. It is a dreadful rag, better known for Page Three stunners - topless models - rather than journalism. Doesn’t Murdoch own it?

Well if it’s got stunners and topless models, it can’t be all bad, can it? The website I found the article at said that it was a broadsheet, but I guess that’s up for debate, now.

What, is it like a National Enquirer, or something?

I’m trying to think of an equivalent. It’s a tabloid - a bit like the Boston Herald.

If a nuclear bomb went off in Paris and the England football (soccer) team won the World Cup and THEN went on an alcohol and drug fueled murder spree and it was really warm in the middle of the fall - all on the same day - The Sun would go with pictures of scantily clad secretaries soaking up the sun on their front page…

Checked up - The Sun IS a Murdoch owned newspaper, so you should love its position on all things political, big kahuna
.

Actually, I’m not a big FoxNews fan or the like. I admit to being big on national security for this election, and for the guy who I think will best handle that consideration (Bush), but my voting record’s been all over the map.

Reagan both times, Bush 41 once, Perot in '92, Clinton in '96 and wrote in John McCain in 2000 (I thought Gore a pompous, pedantic ass and Bush a lightweight at the time).

I prefer The Economist for its analysis, and I read just about every online version of the “nationals” (NYT, LA Times, Boston Globe, Wash. Post, New York Daily News) that I have time for. The American Enterprise Institute online for the technical explication on some issues and either Cato or Hoover institute materials for balance.
