I admit to being shocked at how badly other people did.
I was 12 for 12 but that just proves I am a geek.

10 out of 12 and I am Canadian!! ![]()
12 for 12!
I only missed the one about the automaker that didn’t receive bailout $. The rest are easy if you watch the news from time to time. Shows how ignorant the average American is.
11 out of 12, I put 5200 rather than 4200 casualties, my bad.

Me too.
12 for 12, I’m a news geek as well.
yeah, I missed that one and the last one.
Give me something harder, boyo. 12 for 12. But, I also now consider myself part of the journalism profession (ha!) and am a fount of useless knowledge and trivia, for the most part, anyway, so I have to keep myself up on things. Besides, I think any decent LR inhabitant will get a 12 for 12, just for the fact of our individual brilliance and insight…even in the case of Mr. Tibbs and Mr. YaHey (hee-hee).

Hmmm…, I wonder if maybe the news is biased toward over reporting the and or exaggerating the number? I actually wanted to click 4200 as that stuck in my head, but finally clicked 5200 or whatever the number was thinking “Man it has to be the higher number”

That where the media hype comes in. Remember when we hit a thousand killed in Eye-Rack? That was a huge circus, when most in the military would tell you it’s just a number, as hard-hearted as that may sound. People don’t remember wars or conflicts past, when it was a normal thing to lose a thousand men in a single battle. Hell, we probably killed 30,000 Chinese at the Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War. And in our Civil War, 20,000 troops killed on one battlefield wouldn’t have raised an eyebrow.

Amazingly, I went 12 for 12. Didn’t even have to think hard about any of them.
The funny thing is that I don’t usually post in many LR threads because I don’t (or didn’t) think I paid that much attention to current events. Must be osmosis from having the TV on while futzing around the house.
I am guessing you know a lot more than you give yourself credit for. People here are pretty smart overall. Of course we are not hearing from anyone who didn’t do well on the quiz…tee hee…
I’m the idiot. I got 10/12 which apparently qualifies me but in my defense I am from the colonies (Canada).
11 out of 12. Missed the casualties (picked 3300).
Didn’t Ford receive money then return it?
