This weekend is my first time racing in a World Cup. They have really strict uniform rules that you have to follow, and finding somebody capable of reading the rules and following them when they print your suit is really tough. Last week I was in Honolulu when I found out the suit I was expecting to race in wasn’t going to make it in time. I called up my former roommate (and frequent slowtwitcher), Tai Blechta, and he overnighted a suit from Kiwami, and had it printed a day later so I could grab it on my way to the airport. Not only that, it’s perfect. I was the ONLY person on the start list that did not receive any negative comments about my suit logos. The head official actually held up my suit and told everyone that it was how every suit should look!
If you have any graphic design work, go to Tai, that guy gets it right - which apparently nobody else doing elite uniforms can do.
I wrote more about it on my blog (bencollins.org) along with a picture of the perfect suit.

but jesus f*ckin christ, do not the officials and rule makers for the world cup not have anything better to do with their time rather than complain and create all kinds of insane and unnecessary complications about logos and suit design? what a total waste of time, money, and effort.
