Why? Their start lists and results lists are great, and easy to find. Unlike Ironman. Try to look at a results’ sheet for Kona and nowhere to be found on their website.
Huh?
I thought it was just me who struggled to find results for IM races, they can never get this right on social media either.
if you have the ironman app its fairly easy to find the results
but yea the one think world triathlon is well is to make it easy to find world tri results
My ‘go to’ is the PTO results pages: swiftly uploaded (Pros obv).
In other news, LCB is off the T100 Dubai GF start list (though Ryf still there (WT)).
Marta Sanchez added
Noodt no longer on the Grand Final Dubai start list. I guess his injury is too severe to be able to recover/rehab in time and he’ll take the extra month to have a great race in Taupo. Or maybe just call it for 2024.
He will not finish top 10 now but his PTO Ranking is so high he will get a contract for 2025.
Koolhaas is #1 on the waiting list.
Ryf now off the start list, Sanchez no longer there, and Perez Sala pulled up from waiting list.
Probably doesn’t enter most triathletes mindset, but the US State department has issued travel advisories for travel to the UAE for missile, drone, or terrorist attacks.
Now that’s a destination location T100!
Yeah, Noodt is done for the season he said in an Instagram video.
Sophie Coldwell has announced she’s pregnant, so might explain why she disappeared from races.
Yes, as I said on the 2025 thread ‘(happy) events, dear girl, events’.
I wonder whether she will now stay on the BriTri performance squad (iaw pregnancy policy) and retain funding (as Holland did all last and this year)?
Unless you’re quoting something new, this advisory is dated July 13, 2023.
This is the UK advice for visitors to the USA:
" Terrorism in the USA - Terrorists are very likely to try and carry out attacks in the US.
“Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places visited by foreigners. You should remain aware of your surroundings, keep up to date with local media reports and follow the advice of local authorities.”
I thought she’d prety much washed her hands of British triathlon after not being selected for the Olympics, so its an interesting question.
And now Chura, Watkinson and Thek are no longer on the start list and Curran has been added (from the top of the waiting list).
So, um, you think things in that area of the world have, ummm calmed down since then and there are less missiles and drones flying around?
Point being, I don’t think any athlete bailed because terror threats per se, but just poking at the “destination” location T100 tosses around.
No one goes there unless they have to, or have some kind of money connection there.
The timing of this could help her enormously. The new funding cycle gets announced in about 5/6 weeks. Theoretically she meets the criteria to stay on funding as you effectively get “frozen” in your current funding position.
She hasn’t worn a GB suit since the selection announcement but she remains eligible. As far as I know she hasn’t made an announcement she is quitting.
Even better, if after T100 London Coldwell had raced Tallinn and Zell-am-See and got a high PTO Ranking she’d get a payout from the PTO at year end and a lock in to that ranking for ?15 months.
This year the Doha / Abu Dhabi / Dubai triangle will see around 200 Million AIR passengers transit or stop…thats like double the JFK’s/LAX’s/ATLs combined. To me that suggests more than “have to”.
isn’t there a multi-sport event that week with 6000 or so athletes ?
they should have gone safe and booked Washington on Jan 6th
I meant she would have private medical coverage and access to physio and coaching for rehab/return to training rather than prize money.
The funding might help next year as well!
EPB has shared that she will DNS the Grand Final Dubai in a fortnight (detail in tri247 article linked below).
Visser is top of the waitlist and with her #3 points from Singapore has potential to get up into the top 15 with a good race.
