Fair is fair. It looks like Astana was more like forced out of the Tour by the ass-backwards ASO. Why then isnt T-Mobile also tossed? Is it because Vino actually won a couple stages? Sinkewitz also tested positive, yet T-mobile gets to stay, that’s total BS!! I feel bad for Kloden, this guy crashes twice, picks himself off the side of the road and was still in the mix for the podium. Don’t forget Kloden put 3 mins into Evans, 5 minutes into Levi and 8 minutes into Rasmussen in last years final time trial. I’m not saying it would be the same this year but a podium spot was still within reach. Poor Klodi, not fair in the least!
If you really feel bad for Kloden–a guy that has ridden with guys like Vino, Jan, and other doped up riders on T-Mobile and Astana throughout his career–then maybe you are doping too

Well, the same could be said about 99% of the peloton. Who has not been teamates with a guy suspended? Certainly Dave Z, Hincapie, Bobby J and just about everyone has riden with a busted rider at some point in their career.
Kloden should be able to finish the tour, that’s all I’m saying. Now if they have proof of a team-wide doping operation, then I stand corrected.
We can always assume their all doping, I hear you on this one BUT still at the end of the day we have to go by test results. I’m sure Kloden was also tested on Saturday based on his finish and we have no reason to believe he returned a positive sample.
I’m just saying fair is fair, If Astana must go, T-Mobile should go as well.
The difference is the number of doped up riders that have admitted or have tested positive for doping on T-Mobile from the 90s on. That is, just about every rider. So it is very hard to believe that Kloden, who has been one of their top riders and has finished 2 and 3 in the Tour, falls outside of that group
I don’t disagree with your point about there being two different standards, but feeling sorry for Kloden: c’mon! Just out of curiosity, did you also feel sorry for Vino last year?
I will say that of the leaders, Kloden, Evans and Levi at least look human.
I get suspiscious when I start seeing superhuman. More suspect than Vinos TT was the chickens. I accept the superclimber chicken, but the super TT chicken? Somethings a little stinky there.
Someone on ST posed the question as to why poor ol’ Kloden, would turn down the role of leader on his home team T-Mobile, to go work for Vino and Astana? Especially since T-Mobile has this new found desire to be clean. You can’t tell me Mick Rogers was the clear cut favorite for the Mobile boys. Kloden is the least of my concerns with regards to the tour.
Are you so naive to believe that they kicked Astana out just because Vino was caught. Clearly the whole former L. seguros team now Astana is sanctioning doping.
Blood doping is not that simple you need some kind of orga. here.
And please don’t tell me poor Klodi is so innocent.
They should be thrown out for their horrible taste. Look at those jerseys…
One of the rules of the Tour is that any team with a rider being investigated in a doping scandal will not be allowed to start. Contador is part of Operacion Puerto.
It’s the second time actually. Forgot which Tour and which rider, but there is one year when a Disco boy was investigated or actually tested + and yet, the team started.
