System One Positioning by John Cobb

Anyone know how much Bicyclesport charges for this fitting?

+/- $200

Well worth it, got fitted twice by Dave Bunce on two different TT bikes

Just got fit in Tyler 2mo ago and was $150
.

Was FREE as a part of purchasing a frameset. Something to consider when making that next purchase. This could represent a $200 savings. Well worth it either way.

I believe I payed about $130 for a 1-2 hour fitting with John Cobb in Shreveport. This was back in 2001. The best part was I went back to get re-fitted on a newer bike, and it was only about $40 or so for the refitting since he barely had to change anything. Well worth it. Like somebody else said, if you purchase a new bike the fittings usually come free. That’s the best deal around.

I got fit at their Tyler location last month for $200, but not by Cobb himself. JC was there, however, and came by several times and helped out. He also spent 30’ critiquing my running form with his partner! They had great suggestions about my running (which was in desperate need of running form improvement).

The best part of the fitting was the work on my cleats. They shimmed everything up and my knees feel much better. I was already in a pretty good position and they only made minor improvements. I came in with the saddle far too high and they lowered it some, but I ended up lowering it another 1/2 cm. I also shortened my stem by 10mm, but I think I really need the in between size. You can see my picture after the fitting and forum comments by doing a search on this forum.

Forgot to say, everyone there was exceptionally nice, friendly and helpful. I expected that they would sell me a shorter stem at $100+ and various other crap, but they never even tried to sell me anything. Definitely a professional shop run by excellent people. They were a joy to work with. I got fit late on a Friday and they stayed open 2 hours extra to keep working with me. I rode around on Sat. and one foot was hurting so I rode by just to see if anyone was there. They were and took care of me with a smile.

In Florida, go to Florida Bicycle Sports http://www.floridabicyclesports.com/, owned by Brian Cowan. He does System-One fitting and will improve your position – no matter how good you think you are dialed in. Knowledge is power and Brian has it. It’s the best money you’ll spend on speed. Start with the right fit and go from there. Throwing your money at equipment before a proper fit is a waste of time and money.
