I’m building a new TT bike this spring and plan on staying with Syntace Stratos Handlebars, C2 aerobars, & Cane Creek brake levers. I have used this set up since 2000 on my old Tri-bike and still find this set up very comfortable and also a much cheaper alternative to dropping a lot of money on the new integrated aerobars. Anyone out there still using this set up?
Me. Same setup except that I use the Profile Design brake levers. I’d like to get a little lower but may go with a negative rise stem instead of swapping out my comfy C2 aerobars. The only thing I’ve done in the past 4 years to them was replace teh pads as the old ones got pretty gross.
I do too. Syntace got it right years ago. It’s hard to beat the comfort and solid feel of the Syntace C2 bars.
I’m using C2 aerobars still, although I have the Vision base bars and levers. I still think that the C2s are awesome for lightness and comfort.
syntace still works great for me, no need to go much lower and they feel solid and comfy, what more do you need.
C2’s are still the gold standard. Why change if they work.
I am with all of you. I still have my C2’s on my bike as they are one of the best and lightest aerobars. My old set-up was C2’s, Stratos, F99 stem and Diacompe 188’s.
New set-up is C2’s (drilled to run cables internally), F99 stem, Tektro carbon levers and the Easton Delta base bar.
I have thought about changing the aerobars but just could never change them. As you can tell since I had to drill them out to run cables they are an older version. The only thing that I would maybe go to would the the SLS for the lighter weight.
Stratos base bar, C2 bars drilled for internal routing, Tektro levers with a spring (4.1?), Look Ergostem.
Solid, comfortable, adjustable, and durable.
