Sydney NSW, where to ride long?

I’m a fairly recent relocation to Sydney and am having trouble figuring out routes for my long rides.

I live in in the Cabrita/Concorde area and do my <2.5hr rides in the Olympic park or the bike track along the M7, but as I train for IMAus I’m looking for routes >4hr and don’t know which direction to go.

I came from the Niagara Peninsula in Canada and am used to quiet roads in the country with little traffic and fewer interruptions like lights and stop signs - city riding isn’t fun!

Any locals that can offer suggestions on longer routes would be most welcome. Thanks.

Hey, Sydney is tough for cyclists. I spall my long roads South to Waterfall and the Royal National Park. Once you clear Surherland it is lovely riding. I think there might be a bike lane network from where you are towards Sutherland. Not sure. Best thing would be to join a cycling club and do long rides on a road bike.
