so i remember reading posts on here about swimming with paddles without the wrist strap attached. what is this meant to achieve again?
(wrist straps on my paddles have perished!)
i think the thinking is this. if your elbow drops during the catch, the paddles will fall off. if you have the wrist strap on, this won’t happen so you won’t get the feedback.
they were moving all over the place when i used them. they are a larger size tho. they wobble when i am recovering my arm and when it enters the water i have to make sure they are straight on my hand before i begin to pull…
what kind of paddles are they? they are still attached with a strap around your finger right?
FYI, i’m not a good swimmer.
speedo ones. squareish shaped, pink, they were the larger ones when i first got them.
I use the Tyr paddles without the wrist strap. When you swim without the strap it forces you to always make sure that you are pulling a good amount of water and being relatively efficient or they move all over the place on you.
