Going to Miami this week, gonna be on Miami Beach for part of my time, and then downtown off Biscayne Blvd. Any help for open water, or outdoor 50m would be appreciated. Also any recommended roads/paths for running? Many thanks.
Key Biscayne which is not too far from downtown offers “tri beach” where you will be able to get in open water swimming. This is also triathlete training ground so you can pretty much get all 3 sports satisfied. There is also Swim gym which is a open air pool (25m) on the key as well.

You can run on the beach in your shoes, much of it is hard packed, or on the boardwalk, which flanks part of it, or run barefoot, if you’re so inclined, down close to the water.
Crandon Park on Key Biscayne is nice: not so built up like Miami Beach. Crandon Park water is calmer than Miami Beach for swimming.
Your timing couldn’t be better. There’s a gent named Raven who runs every day and I mean EVERY day, 8 miles, on Miami Beach. He’s been doing this for 30 years and today (Sunday) was his 100,000th mile! He welcomes company. Google Raven Miami and it’ll be the highlight of your trip.
