Swimming near Keystone, CO

I will be visiting Keystone Colorado in Aug and want to find a pool. There is a lake in Keystone, but I heard it was polluted. There is a larger lake in the next town I could go to but I would have to swim alone. I couldnt find anything on poolfinders.com.

Recomendataions?

The town of Breckenridge has an incredible recretational facility with among other things, a 25 yard pool. The facility has outdoor running trails, spin bikes, yoga/pilates/ a climbing wall and weight room as well as various racquet and ball sports. It is 9 miles away.

I second triyoshoes. The lake in Keystone is a goose crap filled pond and although they hold the Xterra there, you don’t want to swim in it. I doubt they would let you anyway. I have been to the Breck Rec Center and it is nice. It is probably your best (only) bet for public swimming http://www.summitcolorado.com/breckenridge/recreation-center.php

There is also a great facility in Silverthorne with a nice pool. My little sister was the head of the recreation department for Silverthorne and was in charge of building it. Silverthorne is closer to Keystone than Breckinridge.

Are you taking your bike? There is some good riding there. Vail Pass (bike trail all the way) and the “Lake Loop” around Dillon Reservoir and over Swan Mountain road.

I will have my mountain bike with me. I plan on an epic ride every day followed by a nice run.

Thanks Yall.

Make sure that you check out any lake before jumping in. I heard alot of lakes in Utah & Colorado have snakes in them. Just a warning…never want to jump into a snake den.

Don’t know if you are joking or not, but the area elund is going to is over 9.000 ft. in altitude. No snakes up there.
