Swimming in the Cabo area?

Heading to the Cabo area next week and looking for good places to get in some scenic ocean swimming. I’m staying about half way between Cabo San Lucas and Cabo San Jose. According to our resorts website, no ocean swimming is allowed due to the strong tides.

Any good recommendations?

My husband and I were in Cabo in January. We stayed at Hilton and did an ocean swim right there. The current and waves were fine that time of year…however the water temperature was cold. Wish I had wetsuit. There were many swimmers and snorklers close to us. Double check with locals for current conditions during your time of travel. Enjoy…it was beautiful!!!

Usually the resorts that do not allow ocean swimming it is due to rogue waves. Those things are really dangerous and have killed quite a few people. I’m sure there are still some safe swimming locations but take the warnings seriously. My resort a few years ago had guards to prevent folks from getting too close to the water.

The area where you are staying has dangerous rip tides, so listen to your hotel’s suggestion. I have gone swimming/snorkeling in the bay adjacent to the port in downtown Cabo San Lucas. If you do this, watch out for boats and jet skis.
