I just relocated to So. Cal and my new office is in Encino. Does anyone know of a good pool and or master program nearby? I will probablly go at lunch since I run in the morning. So, hopefully a good pool is close enouph to get in a noon swim.
don’t know about a public pool, but I grew up there and nothing beats the pastry in the bakery at Gelson’s market.
You also have my favorite running store on Hayvenhurst and Ventura…Phidipidies…those guys KNOW shoes.
I hear there’s a nice 50m pool in Van Nuys, at Van Nuys Blvd. and the freeway. Friends of mine swim there at lunch. Southern California Aquatics also runs workouts there:

Pierce college is a few miles down the road and allows visitors for a nominal fee. They might well have a masters program, too
I swam for Pierce many moons ago. Took me about 15 mins in non-traffic to get their from Encino.
Pierce does have a Masters program, www.swam.us, and they have noon workouts. It’s a nice group of people.
Cal State Northridge has a rec pool. You pretty much get one or two lanes to yourself most of the time. At least that’s how it was when I was there. Parking sucks though
