A bunch of Moroccan’s try to do it all the time. Something about better jobs in Spain…
On a more serious note - 13 miles in 3-1/2 hours? There seems to be something wrong with the numbers. Can’t quite put my finger on it… That’s 3.7 miles per hour. Let’s just take an IM swim for comparison - takes the top persons about 1 hour to swim 2.4 miles, wearing a wetsuit for bouyancy. He was 50% faster over 5 times the distance? Even with the current that is in the straight (which is very strong) that seems like total BS to me.
I don’t believe it.

An hour??? More like 42 minute for Jan and 45 minutes for many lead packers (w/neoprene that is) w/o 48 minutes is a good time for 2.4 miles
