Swimming fast in Kona?

I know this forum has more knowledge than god, so I ask you your thoughts on time savings/benefits of a speed suit vs the aero dynamics savings from bike to bike.

I would bet that the difference between the sleekest frame compared to a round tubed frame is minimal compared to the speed suit vs standard swim suit (yesterday I put one of these and performered my own independent test in the pool…each 100 yd effort was 5.1 seconds faster with the suit vs regular swim suit…3x…6 total).

Are my time differences consistent with the average? It will be interesting to see how many enter the water without one of these…especially those who have sent good coin on every imaginable bike gadget.

Dollar for time saved, I bet the few hundred bucks spent on one of these out weighs anything on the bike. Your thoughts?

Ps…the suit I tried was torque by tyr.

you think a shiv/p4/speed concept won’t save 3.75 minutes over 112 miles compared to a round tube frame?

between the sleekest TT frame like a p4/shiv and other aero frames like the Guru Crono, Kuota Kaliber, there is about 200 grams of drag difference

which would be about 6 minutes saved over 112 miles

compared to a round tube frame it would be more

I do a bit of riding myself and can’t imagine that much time savings compared to a Kuota, Guru or even the round tubed frame. Imagine how fast Normann would have ridden back in 2006… 4:12? I assume he would benefit even greater seeing that he was 15 min or so faster than the rest, so maybe 4:11? Then there is John Howard on a road bike…hen would have needed a wheelie bar in the back had he had one of these bikes.

I have ridden all of the different bikes out there, including racing Maccas Shiv earlier this summer. While it was a nice bike, I could not feel the noticeable difference as I did yesterday in the pool.

I will definitely look into the bikes more, especially seeing that I am a free agent, no longer representing Kuota. I love the Kueen K, but if there is something that can give me the boost the suit did, I am on that bike.
