Do you think this would make the IM distance tougher? I know there is a sprint tri here in CO that you can pick your own order but I am wondering if you had to run before the bike would it be tougher, easier or the same for the longer distances?
What is the name of the sprint in CO where you can pick your own order?
I have done several Olympic dist. races in S-R-B format in Calif and Nev. and I like it way better. Good legs for the run and then you just pour it on for the bike and ride like the wind. And I think that overall you post a faster time than S-B-R.
it’s called my way or the tri way
.
I did one of those in Texas, outside of San Antonio (Boerne). It was a mile swim, then a 7 mile run then a 25 mile bike. Back up in the Hill Country. Tough, and I ended up with plantar fasciitis in my right foot later the next day. Not sure that the course had anything to do with that, of course, but that’s the thing that sticks in my memory about it.
I think it was called the Advantage Texas triathlon, or something like that. James Bonney won it, and Mike Lovato finished 2nd. A few years ago, it was.
