Hi,
I’m going to NYC next month and I’m looking for a place to swim during my stay.
Does anybody know a public pool or an gym with day pass to swim?
Thank you.

not trying to hijack but no point in creating a new thread. I’m interested in Gilc’s original question and if there are any bike shops around the Bronx that will rent out a road bike?
The rec centers have pools, but not sure if they have day passes. There’s also the YMCAs that you can definitely get a day pass for.
If you want open water there’s Brighton Beach and Rockaway Beach. Both reachable by subway.
PM me I can send you a guest pass for the YMCA close to union square
.
Where are you staying? Recommendations would vary widely depending on where in the city (e.g., Riverbank has a 50m pool that’s not that crowded and has a cheap day pass, but it’s at 140th and the Hudson River).
Did NYC last year. Swam at a local YMCA for free with one day pass.
Rented nice Scott road bike from NYC Velo on West 45th street. Picked up Saturday, hopped on Hudson River Greenway and road 30 blocks to transition. Raced Sunday, road bike back and returned it. They were great.
I’m staying at Lower East Side.
The public pools are going to open soon. There’s some with the 50 yd lanes.

Google Bearcat Masters or NYC Hydras masters. They practice 10x per week each at Baruch College (24th & Lex) which is a short subway ride from LES. Drop in is free for out of towners. I swim with Bearcats.
