Any kind of fabric headband will get soaked–I don’t care if it’s 6 inch thick cotton terry cloth or Nuclear Infused Giga-Performance Wicking fabric. Within 20 minutes of sweating even the Halo stuff just can’t keep up. At least that’s been my experience in very humid areas. And I’ve tried them all.
Sweat Gut-r works because it is made from silicone and grips your head even when you move around. No sweat gets “under” or beyond it. It works just like a rain gutter. Oh, it also doesn’t have to be “washed”, only rinsed in the sink afterwards since nothing sticks to it.
It has fit under all my helmets including the aero Giro Advantage 2.
When it’s really, really bad hot and humid then I wear a wicking Skull Cap kinda high on the top of my head with the Sweat Gut-r just below it on my forehead. This lets the Skull Cap wick off stuff from the very top of my head and gives me some sun protection under a helmet.
One guy’s experience.
