I’m so drawn to this show even though it has its flaws. It’s on Discovery HD if anyone wants to watch. I love the fact that this is a small company trying to survive by a unique logging method. Looks a bit destructive but I’m assuming from experience that there is a replant operation going on as well. I like the small guy company trying to keep going and keep his people working. Big cool equipment doesn’t hurt.
My only gripe is the sound guy and for that matter the sound guy on so many movies and TV. If you put a hydraulic driven disc or saw on a machine it shouldn’t sound like a chain saw. Different animal but I look over it because I like the show. Other peeves for sound helicopters that don’t sound close to the actual model, and cars with a V12 in view sound like a V8.
Still love the show and true working people or salt of the earth.
It’s OK but I prefer the History Channels logger show Ax-Men, those swamp loggers are the real deal. SHelby Stanga and those boys that dive in the Suwannee River with the alligators to bring up old wood. Great stuff, I love when Shelby says “Turtle soup tonight”

You have nailed it my friend. These “shows” are cream of the crop! My faves:
Whale Wars
Ax-Men
Deadliest Catch
I can and have watched these for hours at a time, I just can’t look away!!!
Me too, although I kinda like Ax Men a little better. I don’t like the histronics and competition stuff as much - that seems a little forced. But just watching those guys work and handle the equipment - amazing. Nothing is as inspiring as driving through the Pacific Northwest and seeing an entire freaking mountainside clear cut. Yeah, the greenies have a hissy fit, but the technology and know-how to do that are amazing. Plus, it’ll grow right back.
I go out for 4-5 hours on the weekend to cut down a tree and split some wood, and I am beat. These young and old guys on Ax Men are out there every day doing their thing.
