Suunto T6D

Anybody uses one for triathlon? What do you think of customization and going through the different legs? How’s the online site (since they don’t support Mac)?

I use a t6c. Not sure what you mean about the customization. But. Switching sensors is quite easy to do on the fly.

The epoc can be handy feedback to have live as it happens, but it rarely tells you anything you don’t already know.

I assume you mean customizable field displays, which is pretty nice. I look for different parameters on the bike and run (like to watch lap times) so you can set up 2 displays beforehand, then just switch.
If you are referring to the multiple pods, this also is pretty seamless, just switch displays and it finds and PODS right away.

Movescount.com is tolerable if you have no other options, but I dumped it recently and went back to the STraM software. The online site is slow, there is too much clutter you can’t customize, and they don’t allow local saving of a batch of workouts (just one at a time).

Overall I like the device, but movescount was a step backwards.

I purchased a t6d just shy of two months ago as an upgrade to the t3d. The customization of screens & website work perfectly for my needs in multisport, while still offering a functional, nice-looking watch. My only gripe is battery life.

About three weeks after receiving the watch from suuntowatches.com, a low battery indicator came on. So I swapped out the battery. Two weeks later, another indicator, so another battery. A few weeks later, another low battery indication, so I opened a dialog with Suunto. The watch was shipped back to them for evaluation on the battery issue this past Tuedsday. I hope to hear a response, soon. What’s weird is that the serial number of the watch is listed as out of (Suunto’s 2-year) warranty, and suuntowatches.com is no longer an active domain. Hope Suunto honors my claim.

All that said, I really like the watch and hope to be using it again in the near future. Hope things go better for you, should you opt to pull the trigger on one.

How did that turn out for you?

Turned out just fine, thank you.

Suunto could not duplicate the problem but believed my claim; a new watch was sent straight away and has been working just fine with the same battery ever since.
