I just did a search for my AG (M40-44) at Oceanside 70.3 and there are approx. 390.
That’s up by about 100 from when I last did this race in '05.
Wow…I wasn’t expecting that much of an increase.
Thankfully I’m aging up soon.
Maybe it’s the economy. Maybe people are signing up for more HIM than IM. I would not be surprsed if this wasn’t a bad year for IMNA. After all, racing is a luxury sport.

There was an article from a couple of months ago mentioning that the industry is pretty much recession proof. For many, triathlon training/racing is a coping mechanism and/or an escape from reality. Races are selling out faster than ever.
