Support Autism - 150 Mile Run - Point Pleasant Beach, NJ - 8/24-6

A good friend of mine has an Autistic son, JT. The father is a runner, biker, and triathlete. A few years ago he formed the JT Foundation For Autism Awareness, and has been trying to garner support. The foundation is formed not specifically to raise money for JT, but to raise awareness that Autism exists, and is growing. Current statistics show that 1 in 150 children have some form of Autism - a simply staggering number.

It started slowly, but this year the foundation has really caught its stride!

This weekend, August 24-26, marks a very special event. Brian Shea, an Ironman triathlete (9:31 PR) and endurance athlete is going to attempt to run 150 miles over three consecutive days. 150 miles tracks the 1 in 150 statistical figure, and is intended to further raise awareness.

Brian has been training hard for this event and his logs are posted here.

How can you help? That’s easy. You can:

  1. sign up to run a portion with Brian,
  2. donate time at the Team For Autism Tent,
  3. donate money through the JT Foundation website, or
  4. simply offer your prayers and best wishes to those afflicted with Autism, their families, and to Brian Shea, in hopes that he finishes his amazing endeavor.

Thanks for “listening.” Hope to see you out there!
