This picture/bike was discussed in a German forum with the subject ‘Carbon melts in the sun’. :))
And it really looks like the frame is melted. I like other TT bikes much more.

That frame is screaming for help. Magnus is hugh and the frame is warping under his mass! Carbon was not meant to be treated like that. He needs a steel frame!
I’m gonna be seriously sick after looking at that one.
Yeah, he could probably “fix” its style faux pas with a bit of duck tape, eh, rodent boy?
Anything would make that ride better.
Maybe some clay and morter while where at it.
That bike is an abomination to all things carbon. Just because you ‘can’ make a certain shape in carbon does not mean that it’s a good idea. Now on the other hand, if I was in the prescence of Magnus, I would be praising the bike because I don’t think you would want to anger that guy.

Bäckstedt actullay broke two bikes last season (or two seasons ago?) because the bike were too fragile for such a heavy and powerful rider like him. In the end he had a bike special made for him because the stock frames were too weak.
Maybe someone developed a corregated carbon like a cardboard box for strength. It sure looks like a polevault pole bending under the big mans size. You know what? He looks pretty well as aero as he can be just looking at that pic. Someone did his homework. G
Is it just me that thinks some frame shapes and angles look reminescent of the Guru Carbonio? The sweeping lines from the tube junctions in particular.
Thats ugly. Someone get that guy a rebadged Walser instead…
My thoughts exactly. Ulrich knew what he was doing.
The nicest bike there is the one Levi Leipheimer is using.
Excatly the same as my commuting bike. But he has nicer wheels. No wonder he had a podium.
It used to take me 55 minutes to get to the office. I now doing it in 47 minutes.
Didn’t realize we had so many (let’s do it the same ole way) folks on this board. I usually see alot of UCI bashing for being traditionalists, and carbon will allow pushing the envelope. I also like the Magnus critiques like the pic represents how he rode the whole TT and changing his postition would help him. One leg he’d crush most of this forum. Doesn’t pinarello have a similar TT or road bike, I doubt it’s a Bianchi unless they are doing some one off stuff in their carbon shop. I agree it’s ugly, only because there is not enough celeste. Cheers
Ah your referring to the Pinarello Montello. Not a favoirte of mine (too swoopy). Give me the cold hard lines of a Walser or my Kalibur any day of the week…
